What is coaching?

Coaching is a professional relationship between coach and coachee in which clients achieve outstanding results in their professional, personal, and other aspects of life.

The purpose of coaching is to assist clients through a transition from point A (dissatisfaction) to point B where their desired goals are achieved.

How does coaching work?

The coaching session is built on dialogue and special techniques (exercises) designed to:

  • Create or increase awareness of "who I am" and "what I want"
  • Identify and develop goals
  • Create insight of available opportunities and resources
  • Build self-esteem and self-trust
  • Create an action plan for goal achievement
  • Evaluate progress and make corrections to action plans if needed

Depending on the client's awareness level and mindfulness, some steps may be skipped.

What principles is coaching based on?

  1. Every individual is the chief expert on his own life. It means that no one except the client truly knows what will make him happy and fulfilled
  2. Every individual has the potential to reach the goals that are most important to them

The coaching process raises the client`s awareness of their own needs and dreams and helps to unleash their innate potential for achieving their goals.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Coaching is always focused on the future. An outcome of coaching is the achievement of personal or professional goals due to the unleashing of someone’s personal potential.

Therapy usually deals with healing pain, solving inner personal conflicts, or helping to maintain healthy relationships with other people. It`s quite common for therapy to deal with past trauma while in coaching, the past is only used as a source of motivation. For example, when clients need a reminder of their previous successes.
